A Little Bit About Me... |
My love of reading began at the tender age of three, where I’d make my grandpa read the Fourteen Country Rabbits over and over and over again (and correct him when he skipped parts). It was a wonderful tale and sadly is now out-of-print. (Sigh). I’m convinced he taught me to read to save his sanity, I mean so he could find time to read his own books. Ever since then my escape from life’s everyday stresses has come between the pages of a book. Growing up I devoured the complete Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries, Little House on the Prairie and Island of the Blue Dolphins. At age fourteen, I discovered Harlequin romances and a new, favorite genre.
While I have branched out over the years reading mystery, women’s lit, urban fantasy, I always circle back to romance in the end. So, when I had “that” moment, you know the one where you go, “If I died tomorrow, could I say I was done with everything? Would I be satisfied with my accomplishments?” No flew past my lips. I most certainly had unfinished business (yes, I taunt my children with that warning, I'm going nowhere). This isn’t to say I don’t have a fantastic life. I’m married to a real-life hero. No, honestly, I am. My wonderful hubby served in the US Navy for 27 years. He did things he can’t tell me about. It’s probably best he doesn’t - I’ve seen HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER and K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER - I still cringe. But, it doesn’t stop me from being extremely proud of him and the sacrifices he made for us, his family and his country. He’s also uber-supportive of my dreams and NEVER says no to me. I have three wonderful, loving children who make me laugh more often than not. They keep me on my toes and give me some wonderful material to play off in my stories. But back to that unfinished business, what was it? What did I miss? What did I always dream of? Writing my own stories. And, here I am-living the dream. Thanks for stopping by and making my dream come true. |
Random Facts About Me... |
I read romance because it allows me to escape life’s everyday problems. I know in the end the characters' will get their HEA, a few people may die in the process, but it’s the end that counts. Right?
Lindor truffles by Lindt are truly a gift from the gods. My favorite form of exercise is dancing alone in my room so I can get as crazy and wild as I like without my family or strangers thinking I need an “I love me” jacket. I'm a total Disney whore...oops, I mean fan. I still think my mom makes the best cookies on the planet. And after all these years, I’m still madly in love with my husband (but shh, don’t tell him, it’s a secret). |
