Besides being a multi-published author in several genres, I've judged numerous writing contests over the years. I've also been nominated for several prestigious awards including Romance Writers of America's Diamond Heart, the Holt Medallion, the Book Buyer's Best, the National Excellence in Storytelling Awards, and the National Excellence in Romance Fiction Award, which means I understand story structure, the importance of grammar while being creative, and how impossible it is to edit or proofread your work.
I'm also a lifelong reader who loves everything from Historic Fiction to Mystery/Suspense to Cozies to Urban Fantasy to all genres of Romance.
Before that, I spent eighteen years as an associate publications editor. My kids used to say that I graded the teachers' papers. While that is technically not true, I did proofread their research and academic abstracts.

SERVICES & RATES
Chianese Editing offers a wide range of professional editing and proofreading services to cater to diverse content needs. Whether you are an author seeking to polish your manuscript or a business in need of compelling marketing content, I have the expertise to elevate your work to the next level.
All services require a 50% non-refundable deposit with the remainder due upon delivery.
I can work in Microsoft Word (my favorite), Google Docs, and with PDFs.
Turnaround time depends on the length and complexity of your project combined with my schedule. If you need a rush on your project, I will do my best to accommodate you for an increased fee.
All projects are subject to a minimum fee.

Editing While editing (any project) I will work to ensure that the storyline, characters, and overall narrative or content flow seamlessly while maintaining your voice and style. Rates: Line Editing $30 Per Hour (avg 5-10 pages PH) At this level, I'm looking at style, voice, dialogue and tags, sentence structure, as well as cohesion. Copy Editing $30 Per Hour (avg 5-8 pages PH) This edit comes after the Developmental or Content Edit and after the Line Edit. Line editing improves your writing and copyediting corrects your writing. At this stage, I'll be checking grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as, looking for accuracy. Combination of Both $32 Per Hour (avg 5-8 pages PH) For some projects it just makes sense to combine these two services into one, especially for smaller jobs or if you can only afford one round of edits. It'll take me a little longer, as I'm looking at more details, but it'll be worth it in the end. Developmental Editing $35 Per Hour (avg 5-10 pages PH) Combos: Dev & Line Edits $40 Per Hour (avg 5-8 pages PH) Dev, Line & Copy Edits $42 Per Hour (avg 5-8 pages PH) |
